I would just like to know if anyone as been m/d on woodbury common , and if found anything also is there a metal detecting club in exmouth?. happy hunting.

some guy walking on the common years ago near the iron age fort i guess, spotted something shinny on the ground and dug out THREE gold bangles/bracelets.
They are on display in the Exeter museum.
Several guys from East Devon M.D.C. have been detecting in the woodbury area for years now.

If you are planning to detect on the common you will need to obtain permission from the landowners (probably the local authority)....there is no such thing as 'common' land and it all belongs to someone....if you detect there without their permission you will be committing an offence and bring the hobby into disrepute...

Good luck with local authorities, so far I have found them to be less than helpful or supportive of the hobby.

Their time will come when they come knocking on my door asking for my vote
