staffordshire hoard field?

Any ideas what is going on in the Staffordshire hoard field?
about 15 detectorists on there today. i asked them what they were up to?
they said conducting a survey for English heritage.
the guy i spoke to seemed very illusive.

i hope they put up their findings for all to see and hear about.
one detectorist to another should not be so downright secretive.

you don't have to wonder to hard as to why we are seen as a bit loopy and secretive.

Two of my mates went on there about 15yrs ago...never found anything lol they were sick when the hoard was found

I think the question being raised was is it genuine or not ... ?

I'm presuming that in broad daylight in must be ?

I think there was a documentary about the hoard and field on telly a few months back.The report said there was no other/contributing material to the hoard and it was probably stashed back in the day and lost/never recovered....but I suppose they were hardly going to say they suspect the place is still rammed with gold.

The landowner has had a lot of trouble, with detectorists and a lot of bad feeling. I doubt very much that these detectorists are just private people. They must be being used by the archies.
