Thank you Liam.. Good to have a guideline for this.. as a "Outsider" :D No resident in UK.. I hope that it will become natural to use cm or mm as standard for the M- scale or ruler part..
I will humbly post this to free use - http://www.vendian.org/mncharity/dir3/paper_rulers/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the easy one - http://jasonquinlan.com/2009/04/11/arti ... to-scales/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ready to download and print - all it is to do then is a littel Christmas decorations cutting..
For those who like the Evidence Scale and like to do their own design - http://seveness.de/pubfiles/scalemetric.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the PDF Editer you will need - http://www.pdfescape.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Dave8472 have done this for us all - Metric Excel grid file - http://www.metaldetectingforum.co.uk/vi ... 42&t=13448" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks Father Christmas =))
Some very good helpful tips there from you as usual John. Like Bruce I am going metric inch by inch ... but most of the younger forum members will have already been educated in metric anyway. It does not take too long to do a great ID post and once you learn how to get all the info included then you are far more likely to get a top class ID straight away, Liam :;@

I dig shotties by the ton =))
Bruce "going metric inch by inch" is meant to mean NEVER! ;)
My work involves tennis string. The thickness or gauge is described on the packet in TWO ways;
US - Gauge sytem, ok for me as I was once a sheetmetalworker, 16 gauge is 1/16th of an inch etc
Metric - 16 gauge is 1.30mm
The length is listed as 12 metres or 39 feet.
I have got used to it by now, but still refer to measurements in feet/inches and people understand, Liam :;@

Well done so far on getting more information into your ID posts, a vast improvement already!
I was going to do one myself, but have not managed to find anything decent or mysterious today :( Happy hunting tomorrow everyone, Liam :;@
