3 Roman Bits From Farm Building Site

Postby stanslad » Wed Jun 27, 2012 8:44 pm

Hi All
Been visiting the lads working on a farm building site when out that way in the afternoons, that way after sorting them, the builder & customer out I get to stay on & do some detecting, the good news is the owner has told me they have also purchased the surrounding fields, so I can have a go over them after harvest, these are the best 3 bits so far, any info on coin would be great thankyou, the back has what looks like someone stood up holding hands with someone sat on floor?
regards,
Clint ::g

Edit, just been having a bit of a look and there are a few variations on this reverse type, ie different countrys neeling in front of Hadrian, there is Africa, Gaul, Hispania and a few others. think yours may be to far gone to get the exact one though, sorry mate,its good to be finding them early coins though :D :D :D ::g

Morning Sheriff
these finds were from the spoil that was arable land that the builders took off for landscaping & drainage, they scraped off about 3ft down to 1ft of an area about 120 x 80 metres down the hill towards farm buildings & then spread it on the fields next door, so they done the hard work for me, there is some nice looking pasture, orchards & old gardens down towards the river which I will have a go at in the winter when crops are in the other fields & out of bounds, this job we are working on is a 2 year contract so very handy for digging,
