A few romans from the weekend (1 being Allectus)

Postby Bes99 » Mon Mar 20, 2017 3:23 pm

Well I managed around 9-10 ours out on a recently drilled field this weekend that I have found a number of Romans on. Using the Deus GMP no changes, 11 inch coil. All finds around 4inches. Thought I would do a post as I found Allectus in the field, first time I have found one of his radiates, minted in London. Also a good Tetricus I, I think. In total 8 Romans recovered mainly in a poor condition. A nice 1928 sixpence, about a billion buttons and some nice bits of Roman pottery and Tesserae and a copper-alloy hammered Scottish Charles II. Can anyone make out the mint mark on the worn roman: two soldiers standing with two standards between them?
