Hello Guys Yesterday i found my first George III Cartwheel and it was in pretty bad condition with a lot of green incrustation! I didn't want to electrolysis it because i don't like the shininess that it leaves when finished and i always think they don't look old. I've seen Dave's before and after pictures and i like the method because it still keeps the nice patina on the coins. Soooo i thought i would take the gamble and try it...
Firstly I poured the harpicplus in a cup and dropped it in there for about 30 seconds. Then i took it out and scrubbed it with a toothbrush and washing up liquid. I then put it in boiling water to make sure the cleaning action had completely stopped... Lastly i dried it completely and then buffed it up with renaissance wax and i must say i am very pleased with the end result.
Goz.

Yeeaaaa that stuff is leathel! No longer than 30 seconds or it will eat up your coin

John just make sure you scrub all the harpic off, or it will keep on working, and seal it with renaissance wax to keep the air out, all like what Goz has done
It only cost £1 cheaper than cilit bang
