the bottle is a clarkes world famous blood mixture.

"I sometimes have a queer feeling with regard to you: it is as if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly and inextricably knotted to a similar string situated in the corresponding quarter of your little frame."
Hmmm thats interesting. I too have left two "messages" myself for whoever finds them in the future. The first was as a 15 yr old circa 1969. I buried a bottle with my details in, in my sisters garden, about two feet deep, oddly enough next to the fields where I now detect, on the outskirts of a place called Codsall nr Wolverhampton. I often wonder if it was ever dug up.The second one I did was when I was on a few weeks medical training whilst I was in the Army, I was just coming 18. I was based at Kandahar Brks TIDWORTH!
Anyway, I wrote the usual stuff except I added Regt, No etc. Rollled up the paper and pushed it into the vent in the wall above my bed where it fell into the cavity.
Fast forward to about 6 years ago. Local paper was asking if anyone had ever done the above. To cut it short, my photo appeared in the local press where I was branded a serial time capsuller !!!
quite a few of the builders i deal with still do that when they are refurbing old properties. piece of paper with the lads' names and dates of birth, a few coins and receipts from the job etc all sealed in a bottle or tin and hidden in a wall partition
Veni Vidi Detecti!
A fascinating story, but what were the names? I would want to try and find their descendants
the only name i can make out is w.walker the others are like signatures.i have been meaning to pass this on to my sister for some time as she wants to try and trace family.she is very much into tracing our family history so knows her way around the subject.
