Anyone who has prob updating coil to V3 read this

"OK, we have identified a problem with some early coils, how do you know if this is the problem you have ?

P3 & P7 will not work at higher reactivity levels, this tells us that the coil has not accepted V3, it's still in V2, the coil will need to be sent back to XP in France for a modification, we will do this for any machine bought through the correct channels, proof of purchase will be required."

Does this mean that you can't actually put the control box up to lvl 5 in the options if the coil is actually 'faulty', or that when you do, the machine won't work or become unstable? Now you have me wondering if mine is wrong. I see in the options I can put it to lvl 5, but then we could do this in v2 as well.

as I understand it, and it hasn't happened to me but, if you have an early 9" coil then once you go through the update procedure when it gets around to updating the coil it just cant see it to update so therefore your controller and headphones will be updated to V3 but your coil will remain V2 once complete....you will still have some programs but prog 3 & 7 will be missing...unless you have a spare newer large coil that WILL update only then will you see the whole update or if you wind the whole shebang back to V2 only then will you see prog 3 & 7 ..
If you have gone through the V3 update and your coil is talking to your controller AND headphones AND if you can see prog 3 & 7 then all is well.

Well considering the success I have had with the version 1 Deus settings there does not seem to be much point in updating it to version 3 and risking these snags.

Update to this information, it now transpires it only affects a handful of VERY early coils in fact maybe only 3 in UK so ignore the previous information please.

Chances of this happening are so slim, the V3.0 is well worth the upgrade trust me

Menu> disc> expert> 2 tone

Option> programs> save

You can't make permanent the default program options, so you have to use a user defined slot to add your own mode settings.

thanks for that hiho, got it all sorted out now and everything is just the way I had it set up as it was on my v2 settings. will be interesting to see if I notice any difference on the new v3 now.

Well, the v3 update has made my all my pinpoint modes virtually useless . Totally unstable unless you drop the tune down to zero .I dont know if this is part of the same problem or just my detector.Worked perfectly before the update .Certainly wish I hadn't bothered updating , its a backward step in my case.

I havn't had any real problems with the update other than not quite understanding the saving side of things. however, I have sorted that out now and saving is a doddle. I think you can get it back to the v2 if you really want to just not sure how to do it myself but someone else will probably know.

Mine didn't seem to find the coil when flashing to V3 it searched for it twice then seemed to skip to the headphones which completed fine... what should i do to make sure it has updated the coil, my Deus is a quite recent model
