Minelab Safari or E-Trac?

Postby F18sco » Thu Sep 24, 2015 5:53 pm

Hi have been detecting now for just over a year with my garrett 250 and found some good things, I now want to upgrade but cannot decide between the minelab safari or e-trac. Could anybody give me some advice on which to buy. I have farmland to detect on but I also like to try the odd beach.
Could you give advice which to buy and the positives and negatives of each machine.
Thanks in advance.

I went from an Ace 250 up to an Etrac; brilliant on the beach and farmland ::g

I'm outside Old Trafford and there's a guy burning small effigies of Rooney and selling them to fans. Oh, hang on. It's a baked potato stand.

E-Trac....no contest.
It has many more settings & tweaks than the Safari. ::g

The Explorer 2 is no slouch either but of the 2 you've named I think the E-Trac is the way to go. ::g

Never personally owned the Safari but I owned the E-Trac for a few years, it is a cracking machine but will be a quite learning curve from what your used to.
The more you use the E-Trac the more you will understand it and realise what its capable of but it will take some getting used to ::g
Quality piece of kit.
Cheers

Yeah,go for the Etrac. Takes a bit of beating into submission but it's so good. If your budget can stretch,or for the future, think about adding the Detech 13 ultimate coil too. Absolutely what you need on pasture and for the beach. Talking about the beach..the ET loves the wet salt stuff,no mucking about, whereas some machines are useless. There's loads of info and advice to be had off the forum so you'll soon be up and running.
