It looks like a nice machine ,not planning to get one soon but I like the fact they tried them worldwide ,I also read Tom Dansksowi report.I hope to see some good test on the wet sand.

Are the Nokta Impacts on the MDF auction site shipped directly to us in the UK from Turkey ? the reason i ask is for the VAT import duty payable if so.

No they are sent to the retailer in the UK (not the Turkish manufacturer).
The 2 I looked at were both from "Spin a Disc Metal Detectors", to check on the seller when looking at an item on the MDF Auction just click on the "Seller Info" tab.

FYI: I have actually purchased a detector from Spin a Disc Metal Detectors through the MDF Auction site in the past and was very pleased with the service.

I see that the price for the Nokta Impact has been increased from £699 standard pack and £840 pro pack to £799 and £899.

Hello sanjuro, yes the prices have now been increased, this was something that has been action-ed across all dealers.
You do however have the option to make an offer, this does all depend on present pre-order stock levels, dealers only are allowed certain pre-order amounts and the pro version has been more popular than the standard package which is strange as it's normally the other way around.
Cheers

Not only has the price gone up but the "Pre-order" offer originally included the choice of a free pinpointer or wireless headphones, these are no longer listed. ;;z

I was considering getting the pro package, but an extra £59 and then having to purchase the headphones on top (I have pinpointer, but not w/l headphones) ... quite a difference and not such a good deal by a long way.

I have just checked a couple of other dealers and as mrix says the prices listed here seem to the RRP as they are the same so assume Nokta have increased the price to the retailers.

Sterling is down against other currencies post Brexit. ie you need more pound notes to buy something priced in another currency. No one should be surprised by that after voting.

Its not down enough to warrant a £100 price increase

Yes, it is. The pound is really struggling.

Had been possibly a potential buyer but due too the massive price hike and also the free option of either a pointer or headphones that has just made me keep my wallet permanently closed.
Deus and Nexus MP only 2 machines i really use these days.

Also use some site specific machines TDI Pro c/w 20'' Mono,Nexus SE dual 9'' coil,Fisher TW-5 twin box.

Well if it is how come the Pro pack has only increased by £59 then ? it should have been increased more than the Standard pack.

Not for me now at this price. I'll wait a while until it comes down.

It appears that testers of pre-production units have been permitted to post videos of real hunts with the Impact, so there should be some appearing on YouTube. As they aren't done with production spec machines, you would have to use them as a general guide, changes will definitely have taken place.

There's no denying, the 'Nokta Impact' has a decent array of features for it's meagre 6 volt power supply so that's quite impressive in itself and I do like the overall design including the straight shaft. However, there are a couple of things that perhaps could become problematic:-

1. The connecting coupling for the coil to control box - wonder if it's robust enough to cope with frequent 'taking down to it's minimum length for transporting.
2. The location of the speaker housing which would be a potential point for ingress of sand/water especially if used on the beach etc. I note that a stand is available as an 'add-on'

A very good looking design but unfortunately, the cost rules it out as a replacement for my 'back-up' Makro Racer (and nothing can yet convince me that my Goldmax P4 should be replaced! :D ss47

I really like it and was considering buying one to go alongside my GMP.but the unfortunate cost increase, made me look in another direction and me getting the Rutus. But here's a thing, my GMP has nearly 60 hours on a set of Duracells. The manual for the Nokta says you may get as little as 9 hours dependent on program.

The Impulse runs off 4 x AA, versus 8 x AA for the GMP, so there's half your difference. I suspect the digital radio transmitter (vs. the FM analogue one in the GMP) may be a power-consuming feature.
There's a lot of features that you could turn off - the torch/flashlight, the vibration-motor, I guess the cordless headphone link, the LCD backlight. And 5KHz operation is more power-consuming, which is likely a frequency you would use less often?.or maybe not if you're keeping your GMP.

It's probably fairer to compare it's battery life to a machine it's similar to, like the Fisher F75, or its Racer nephews. The F75 gets 40-50 hours runtime off 4 x AA power, but it's a frugal machine, and a tough benchmark. I don't know about the Racers' power drain, dongle/no dongle, lots of variations there.

Is it me and trying to ignore the key benefit of a multi frequency machine. is this not a MR2 in wolfs clothing?

I hasten to add that I rate the MR2 and was nearly tempted myself and only after looking at videos did I think that I already own this machine.

Kind Regards
