Hi,I had a B3 for quite some time.I had been metal detecting for many years and have had all kinds of different detectors. The B3 was also fitted with an extra depth boosting system by a professional company(can't remember the name). When I first purchased the B3(second hand) I tried it out on the bench and got used to the various settings.I was amazed at the depth I was getting from it and used these settings as the basis of my settings when I took it in the field.
My finds in the field were the deepest I had ever come across in all the years of my detecting.
Alas,I am 72 years old now,and with heart and lung problems and only manage to get out inthe summer occasionally with the help of my two Grandaughters. They use a Garret 250 and a latest Viking.(I just supervise) Some years ago I won the "Tell us your Story" in the Treasure Hunting
magazine and did win a laser metal detector. The only problem I had with the B3 though was the weight as it was very heavy when loaded with all the batteries.Well, hope this helps and good luck with your detecting....Best regards...Brian.

Hi i have old B3 that i have had for years i have now got it hip mounted and use for river searching in shallow water i have cut the mounting bracket off as this got in the way when hip mounted.Found all sorts of finds with the B3 some very small Roman coins and is good for hammered coins also found lots of rings from swimming holes on rivers and lakes so a thumbs up from me for the B3. ::g
