If a lot of members off here start going to the rallies why don't we all meet up for a beer or two?

[*]Rubs hands with Glee[*]
This is right on my doorstep...
Now to the silly question:
I have never been to a rally, what happens?
Do you just go, pay and start swinging on the field?
What happens if you only find one standard common silver coin, is it yours or the Landowners?
Is it a sort of competition or just a way to raise funds and get people together on one field making finds?
If i had a virgin field like that i would be greedy and keep it to myself :P

No seriously i want to attend but i need to know how things work so i dont stand out like the nooby detectorist i am lol.....

Most of the rallies you are breifed in the morning before you set off what fields you have then away you go.
All finds will be yours unless they state that the land owner is wanting half.
It will only be items classed as treasure i would think the farmer would want half of, the normal silver hammered and such i doubt he would have much interest in.
They are great fun mate. :)

Well it's got a Hudds postcode.

It's at Clayton West near the Kirklees light railway, not far from M1. Saw it posted on a MD website last night.
