Hello all, just thought I would start a list of up and coming metal detecting rallies as I enjoyed the first one I went to last year , even though I didn't find anything Warning Some of the events / rallies here may require you to be a member of one of the Metal Detecting governing bodies like the... See ad on page 6 Treasure Hunting Feb 2010
10-12 September – The Chesterton Rally Mark IV organised by Northern England Weekend Searchers and Waterworth Estates. Tel. Margaret on 07786 727491 for more details.
11-12 September – The Weekend Wanderers West Hanney Summer Rally. Full details to follow.
17-19 September – Nettleton Charity Rally near Caistor, Lincs organised by Lindum Rotary Club and Northern England Weekend Searchers. Tel. Margaret on 07786 727491 for more details. See ad on page 78 TH December 09.If you are aware of any more please reply to this topic and I`ll add them. Cheers all mrix

[*]Rubs hands with Glee[*] This is right on my doorstep... Now to the silly question: I have never been to a rally, what happens? Do you just go, pay and start swinging on the field? What happens if you only find one standard common silver coin, is it yours or the Landowners? Is it a sort of competition or just a way to raise funds and get people together on one field making finds? If i had a virgin field like that i would be greedy and keep it to myself No seriously i want to attend but i need to know how things work so i dont stand out like the nooby detectorist i am lol.....

Most of the rallies you are breifed in the morning before you set off what fields you have then away you go. All finds will be yours unless they state that the land owner is wanting half. It will only be items classed as treasure i would think the farmer would want half of, the normal silver hammered and such i doubt he would have much interest in. They are great fun mate.

Well it's got a Hudds postcode. It's at Clayton West near the Kirklees light railway, not far from M1. Saw it posted on a MD website last night. p.s. CLAYTON WEST, HUDDERSFIELD, WEST YORKSHIRE HD8 9QE
