Just a thought, but how many acres do you need for 330 plus people metal detecting. I can imagine someone scanning an area say of 35 yards x 35 yards, half an acre while they are on the rally. So you would need 150 acres plus, at the moment to be comfortable.

I also found tin foil and cow medicine tubes, and ammo, buttons, coke/hot rocks (was using the Deus), bit of a horse shoe and other bits of junk.
Looked out for Martin and Firecat222 wearing their SDG T's, but didn't spot them.
There were a lot of people but there was masses of land for everyone.

Thats them - for the treatment of pregnant cows, or so it says on some of the tubes.

Found one George II coin and some buttons but really enjoyed it :D

Plenty of land to detect, I know of 5 fields I did not go in

I saw a number of finds come up including Roman and Hammered

People were very friendly and parking was no problem with room for more!

Hi, that has to be one of the best organized rallies I have been to.
Easy parking, good toilets, good hot food with free tea /coffee ,loads of land to search and a FLO in attendence. :)
Just a shame the finds were thin on the ground. :( .
The wife and myself only had 1 musket ball,2 bullets ,1 button and an old brass bodied syringe between us! I-)
Just been reminded my find of the day was a mobile phone that someone had dropped that day and we handed to a steward,hope the owner got it back. Look forward to the next one....better luck with finds next year.Be interesting to know how much was raised for charity and which charity,I forgot to ask? 8-}

The only downfall with the Rally was a few cars got broken into during the morning off...I still cant beleve there are people with the gaul to do this with 300 people around. :(

Hi all, my main quibble with the organisers was their advert(s) consistently urged book early to avoid disappointment whilst there was clearly no limit to the numbers they would allow onto the site. The pic of the stubble -field posted by John W was at the fagend of the day, 20 minutes after K.O. that same view would have shown 50 to 60 detectorists! A similar number were on the adjacent stubble -field. I found nothing except a few lead bag-seals, a possible copper mount and a livery button. Admittedly there were a couple of remote fields but they were almost a short busride away, if anyone went there they were committed for the day. A 3 hour journey back to east Kent left me feeling it probably hadn't been worth the effort , or the cost (please spare me any special pleading as it" was for charity".)

A really well organised rally with plenty of marshalls and free tea and coffee - I found nothing but junk, not even a modern coin! strange.

Nice to meet so many like minded people wandering around and glad to see so many turned up which made money for the rotary club charity.

Good to see the Bournemouth bunch in good form again, happy days. [:) Well done to the NCMD treasurer who found the hammered - a nice liitle find considering it was so quiet.

all in all, a great day out in the sun and plenty of excercise. Will I go again, sadly not unless a new site is found. Thanks for a well organised day out. [:)
