Hi everyone, just got a quick tip for taking pics of your finds if your using the flash. If you find the picture to glarey or the flash is just too bright, try holding a piece of plain white paper or somthing similar over the flash. It should diffuse the light and give you a better picture. Ive attached a couple of pictures that I took in my front room with the coins on a white piece of card while holding paper over the flash. Brilliant, thanks. This saves me having to wait until morning to photo the finds for I/D as evenings are usually spent cleaning. I had never thought of doing this.

To be fair I only thought of it because I was being lazy. I didnt have the motivation to get off the sofa and go up stairs for my diffuser so improvised. Being lazy does pay sometimes  Glad its helping people

Thanks for the tip. What is the lower coin which looks like it has two polynesian figures on it?

Glad its working for you guys. Its somtimes a bit hit and miss but does help.

Hi paddy, The lower coin is an indian ramtanka temple token. I cant remember exactly but the original ones were from around 53AD I think but then they were also re-made in the 19th century. My nan found that one at some point before she passed away and I found it while sorting through her things. I hope its one of the old ones but not too sure, fingers crossed
