Tip of the day - Coil Cover

Postby Dave8472 » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:17 pm

Hi all, picture my scenario and perhaps for some of you ? A day out detecting and you come back to the car with the metal detector covered in mud and perhaps other stuff, animal poo etc. :-O

Don’t want to get that everywhere in the car, I have a boot tidy bag on the back seat for all the stuff but to stop the coil touching the sides and making things muddy I use a shower cap over the coil until I get home and can get it washed. ::g

Good tip Dave, its always a bit dodgy trying to avoid the mudy coil touching the insides of the rear boot, Liam ::g ::g

Stick my dirty coil in a poly. bag and loosly tie the handles round the detector stem. ::g But the shower cap is a great idea. ::g ::g

Cool idea, I put my ace 150 in a rucksack, then on the back seat.
The coil gets rapped in an old tea towel.

Lots of members wives will be looking about in the bathroom for the shower caps ... =)) =))
I use a black bin liner for the wellies and spade, muddy large finds, pointer and scrap bag, used to stick the coil in there as well, Liam ::g
