Can someone advise on setting for Goldmaxx PowerWould anyone be able to advise me what might be the best settings for the Goldmaxx Power when looking on pasture type land. I was detecting by a river today and only found modern coins and a couple of lead weights, I cannot believe that there are no old coins here, particularly as I was detecting near the remnants of an old mill. Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi thanks Hammyman, I had the goldmaxx set more or less at 11 o clock for every setting and for some unknown reason the Silencer was set on 2. I am sure I had originally put it on 1, will have to remember to check periodically that the settings are still the same. Most of the coins I found today were 2 - 3 inches below the surface. The deepest I dug was about 6 inches and this was for a big piece of lead and a big piece of copper. I pretty much can recognise iron now so would you advise to try the settings for the Experienced User or shall I stick to the Novice settings. I am still getting used to the noises but am finding I am beginning to be able to identify if its foil, or aluminium. The two items that still seem to fool me are old bottle caps and ring pulls, although today I found myself saying to myself "that's a bottle cap" and more often than not I got it right. It Pings likes a coin but has a buzz at the end like its Iron. Oh and would the settings you advise be the same for ploughed and stubble fields. Many thanks if advance ![]()
