Yes, I've been using one for around 4 months. It's great over the right terrain but forget it in stubble or over rough plough or long grass.

It comes into it's over short grass, rolled and pressed etc. where a lot of ground can be covered much faster than with the stock coil. This is great on sites where signals are few and far between. On trashy sites stick with the stock coil. Depth wise you do get a little but don't expect another 3 inches or anything. It's mainly coverage where the value is....more ground = more finds.

Is it worth the money? Well, that depends on how much you use it. It's on my machine at least 50% of the time so yes it's worth it to me.

Cheers,
Alex

Thanks for the responses , I think i'll stick with the stock coil for now. Its a lot smaller than my old etrac sef , but in some ways it makes you work more methodically.

The jury is out at the moment.

I was out on Monday using the large coil but didn't find anything startling. My buddy who was 20ft away found a silver denarius (Antoninus Pius) using the stock coil, both using the GMP mode.

Just shows... you gotta walk over it! :-w

I found Pinpointing a find a lot harder with the bigger coil but only went out with it a couple of times then sold it.
My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure.

Coils are very important to the machines performance and there are different types and sizes to suit varying conditions. I am still using the standard coil and have seen no need as of yet to move on to another. I might be tempted to try a larger coil to cover more ground though as I have a lot of untried land coming up, Liam B-)

I have heard of one or two people who bought the larger coil have suggested they saw very little improvement and some have sold them on and returned to the standard.

I would only use the laerger coil for more coverage and if it did not reduce sensitivity. Missing some good targets for more speed around a field would be a high price to pay, Liam B-)

is this your initial charge????? if so yes all three together and to tell you the truth i always put all three on charge as it just keeps them topped up

just editing this post as i have just read glen on the deus info for dummies has wriiten that according to regtons it is only by putting all three componants on that cause a complete circuit cant see this personally as people have said that they have charged the coil on its own with no problem i just do it to keep them charged up its just easire for me

The reason they saw little improvement, was because they ran it on 18khz.The big coil is superb on the lower frequencies. The other thing with the big coil is to SLOW DOWN.It punches really deep on 8khz swung slow and low. :D
