BE VERY CAREFUL AND DON'T DIG WITH A SHOVEL

seriously mate you should get out of there unless you really know what you are doing :-O :-O :-O people loose arms and legs and other stuff too by unexploded ammunition's every year and there are also fatalities every year too :-O :-O

So my advice is that unless you have military training then get out of there and stay away immediately :-O :-O :-O

Kanalinseln Heer wrote:Was out on Tuesday for 5 hours with the 250 at a fairly well known bunker complex with adjacent FL242 Anti Aircraft bunkers and Jaeger typ Crew Shelters. This area is teeming with German sites, I've recently discovered three reinforced field mortar positions probably for 20cm Ladungswerfer typ mortars and four machine gun nests probably MG34/42.

Usual finds, mainly spent (and live!!!) 7.92mm Mauser rounds and some German Pfennigs but then digs out a large brass handle looks like something off a fixed weapon, marked 'Fabrique en Allemange' BADH or BAD 11 and 1941.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking as its Made in Germany but in French it might be off one of the many requsistioned French weapons that the Germans brought over ????

Then after another hour a lovely Jersey Regiment brass cap badge....the regiment with this badge is dated 1901-1946 so why its at a German Bunker is anyones guess.....

Really nice find and this site is coming up trumps so back out today after a late breakfast as its 25deg here today ::g

Difficult to hazard a guess on your French label, made in Germany thing. Sounds like junk rather than a weapon part.

Have you sorted your photo account yet? :-w

People dying all over the show from them 'exploding' spontaneously..... :D

For the record, if I was unsure of something I would stop immediately and phone the feds.

The live Mauser rounds got chucked over the cliff into the sea, notwithstanding the primer had disintergrated and most of the propellant had leached out....the .50 cal rounds I took home and cleaned with Cillit Bang, as the advert says : BANG and the dirts gone ::g

As it happens I AM British Army trained with a certain regiment and like to think that am not a daftie but thanks for your concern ;)

Wandsdyke, na mate still no joy, I'm in discussion with one of the other posters on here, he will hopefully get me up and running shortly...am a right numptie when it comes to computers :P

Was back up there today, nearly got roasted alive in that sun...some more rounds, a massive piece of steel armour plating and 2 pound coins but still not unearthed a Panzerfaust or MG34 yet.

keep trying lol

Glad you got the photos sorted! You'll be looking a very long time to find a Panzerfaust on Channel Islands, I doubt they ever got issued any :D
