new permission from a favour

Post by saxman » Sun Sep 10, 2017 10:23 am

Sooooooo
I've been trying for three years to get onto a certain farmer's permission and had no luck at all. Actually I lie I have had access to two fields but know they have about 800 acres more. Thennnnnnnnn I get a phone call out of the blue to say that the combine driver had hopped off the combine and dropped the keys to the landrover under the combine. They shifted it to look and searched for an hour to no avail.

Who you gonna call...man detector!

So I drove over very casually, no problem says I. He pointed me in a patch of about 100 metres by 50 metres as they continued to chop after losing the keys. So with 11" coil on the Deus, full tone settings, sensitivity 90, ground balance tracking (expert 85) (Just sticking to the HAMMY code!!) and I start to swing on stubble with farmer watching. Literally three swings in and I get a solid signal dig 6" down and in the clod are the keys!

Farmer was mucho impressed and said please help yourself to this field. Met up later that week and got the rest of the 800 acres mapped out. Bobs the bloke next door and we're in!

Cool cool cool

No he forgot his log on details and then went Facebook wise instead. Keep an eye out for our next video. I found a lovely silver unit and he finally popped his gold hammered cherry! A nice James I double crown. His gold shave was hilarious. Hahaha

Excellent! I spent 2.5 hours looking for a piece of a combine harvester for our local dairy farmer in 27 degrees in August. We found it. Am have one field of theirs but am eyeing up another - a beautiful 100 acre field that has just been ploughed for the first time in 10 years. I have no time to detect it though :( so no point asking. But I'll be pushing for another of their field in the spring and he'd better say yes. I don't mind detecting over cow pats and round a small herd -=+:-P

Great stuff - my local church has lost their large key (they're using the spare) in grass clippings down a steep bank making it a mission to detect. However, if I find it I'm hoping it will lead to pastures new and a tick in the plus box to get me through the pearly gates when the time comes.

Yep,the video last night, what a terrific James 1st,the gold coin dance at the end was hilarious, but you could tell that he was pleased after finding it.
