A guide to attaching photos on the forum and changing orientation
Please note that from August 2019 you no longer need to worry about resizing your photos - the forum will do it for you.
So just crop them to remove any unnecessary background and that’s it.
Please remember though that the 6 photos per day rule still applies. If you want to add more photos than that then please use a hosting site
So, you want to attach a photo using the MDF forum as the host for your photo.
If, after uploading your images (and previewing them), the images are not in the correct orientation, you can change this very easily by using the 'orientation wheel' to flip them. Just click on the wheel icon (as in the image below) and, when the image 'thumbnail' appears, just click on the image once for each turn.

Interesting. I misread something and have been posting photos reduced to just below 650 pixels wide without any problem.
I had loads of problems trying to send images but Oxgirl recommended the Free Online Picture resizing which is dead simple to follow and although limited to 4no photos , I find this is enough for me .
I am not at all computer savvy as I have no patience for technology , hence my love of switch and go metal detectors !
The free online service is straightforward and easy to follow the basic step by step guide which allows you to crop all images and as long as you use the correct pixel size and custom image , you cant go wrong .

I’m already on a ‘list of people who don’t follow rules’ because of that! I don’t have a pc and I get excited to get an id. Havnt put anything up since as I don’t want to be banned
I upload mine from an iPhone
And use an app called image size-
works a treat.
It’s free if you don’t mind the odd advert coming up .

I have alway's uploaded my images to a hosting site (I now use imgur) very quick and easy to upload, edit and resize pictures and just copy the bbcode link into the text box on this site job done. I might be wrong but using this method there seems to be no limit on how many images you can put in a post,

That is absolutely correct, if hosted by an outside source then you can post your whole photo album as it doesn't use any of our resourcesFULLTIMER wrote: Tue Sep 25, 2018 10:30 pm I have alway's uploaded my images to a hosting site (I now use imgur) very quick and easy to upload, edit and resize pictures and just copy the bbcode link into the text box on this site job done. could you send me one of the photos you are trying to add and i'll take a look for you
Hi Guys, i use an App on Android called " Photo and picture resizer" i resize all the pics i want to upload to "500 x 500". This seems the perfect size, nice and simple and had no problems uploading as above method. thanks
If you only have the phone and no other app then on an iphone (assume Android is similar) to resize a picture just email it to yourself. Before it sends it asks what size you would like the picture to be.
When it arrives back in your email just plonk your finger on the image and it will ask what you want to do with it. Just add it to your photos and it's there ready, already sized, to upload to this site.
