Best small coil for Safari

Post by Rayc » Tue Feb 13, 2018 10:20 pm

I need to get a small coil for scrubby/brambly woodland and prodding around under gorse, possibly for stubble as well.
Am considering the Minelab 8" round @ £145, Nel 5" Sharp @ £115, and the Nel Snake @ £115.
Any user experience with any of the above, or other compatible coils, will be welcome. Not too concerned about cost - just want a coil that won't snag up and is stable.
I love my Safari but the standard coil doesn't suit all terrains.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Ray

8 X 6 Detech SEF seems to get the job done for me ,pretty useful on real trashy fields as well.

Although I don't have a Safari now, I used to own one and also used the Detech 8x6 coil. I remember it being a nice quality item. Hope that helps.

I have the 8 x 6 SEF, which I use with my E-Trac. A very robust piece of kit that works well too.

I use a SEF 8x6 coil on 2 detectors, build quality is superb, performance wise is of course when it counts and its one of my favourite small coils.

They certainly get my vote,i do have a substantial amount of coils in my detecting arsenal and the SEF range is up with the best of them.
The difference between perception and reality can be vast indeed.
