the xp 100 has been replaced by the xp150 , both are very good starter machines, used 150's can be picked up for around £145, if the 100 is new then £300 would be about right but i would go for a used 150 with a pair of wireless headphones both for £250 and would be a good start ::g ::g ::g ::g ::g

I had an adx 250 that I part exchanged at £200, an absolutely brilliant detector. I think £300 for the adx 100 is way too expensive, as Busterhammer said look around for a second hand one with wireless headphones & you will never look back ::g

Would it not be better to mention say a budget that you have and also the type of detecting you do like land, beach maybe a bit of both so that people can try and guide you to a reasonable machine rather than just going for any machine that may or may not do.Of course this is only my opinion but i think its the right way to go about it especially if you are new to detecting ::g

Thanks mega I've already stated my budget on an earlier post but ill do it again, £200 £250
could push to £300 for the right machine, my self and a friend are looking to get into a hobby after an illnesses, so we would be talking about mostly land but would also like the choice to do both with the same machine but mostly land, and as we are not working our budget is really limited so would like a machine we can use for at least a couple years as we have got a lot of free time at the moment so would be out regular

I reckon the detector that ticks all the boxes for all of your type of detecting would be the Garrett EuroACE from say Regtons or you could try Crawfords who are a forum sponsor they may even give you a discount they sell for about £280 which i will admit is at the top end of your budget but should certainly do for a couple of years and is more biased towards the UK detecting conditions than say the regular ACE250.

One was not aware that you had mentioned a budget in another post as usually you dont go checking old posts but anyway good luck and look forward to detecting and get well soon.
