Hi all those in the Irish Republic - just a very quick update to say that there are still ongoing talks with the politicians, archaeologists and the media etc in Ireland to lobby for change. The ECMD was formed in Birminghama few weeks ago and we had seven countries represented. We now have some more join us and that number will increase over time. Unity is Strength and we are working to gether for the common cause to allow responsible metal detecting to be allowed in all European countries. At the ECMD Coonference, sponsored by Minelab and the Searcher, there some great presentations and Michael Lewis of the PAS was outstanding.
Keep on lobbying your politicians, we have a new Government about to be formed and when the dust settles from all that we will then see who is in charge of what and lobby them accordingly.
Lots always happening behind the scenes, the Irish Metals Detecting Society is working flat out to promote the hobby on your behalf, Liam
Deus, WSi's - In the end we will regret the chances we didn't take, the relationships we were afraid to have and the decisions we waited too long to make .. Secretary European Council for Metal Detecting
