Weather warning advice

Post by Newfielover » Wed Jun 13, 2018 4:38 pm

Here up in the North East we are going to be hit with a heavy Atlantic storm winds and have been issued with a yellow weather warning. Hopefully everyone keeps safe but my question is once it’s safe which part of the beach to I go on, is it the dry or wet sand.

Last winter the forecast said "Rather cloudy" and I ended up shoveling six inches of the stuff from the front path!!!
Obviously dry sand is safer than wet sand, that said if the warning is Amber ... all bets are off. Not heard of a yellow warning before.

Ahhh ,,, here is the warning ... and its yellow :) :) :)

I would guess it depends upon wind direction, whether on or off shore. I would go on the bit that has been exposed the most.

I'd go straight to the wet stuff personally.......thats where most of the jewellry will be found.I always find it useful to look at images of the beach on the internet as this can show you where it gets the most crowded both in and out of the water. ::g
