Plenty of iron junk, which the GM clearly indicated, at the bottom of the field. Further up I found two very small roman coins (the pictures are the same coin, one taken on the phone (Xperia) and one with a "proper" camera), only one of which is legible without further cleaning, I'll post that one at a later date. Also found a buckle, which seems to have small areas of gold plate remaining, though very corroded. It is non ferrous and I can't decide if it is modern - so your input, fellow forum members, would be gratefully received!
I'll write up my initial experience of the GM5+ as time progresses - so far I would say it seems to do the job, the roman coins were both around 8 inches on pasture, with a very small signal, but clearly indicated at the top end of the copper scale on the VDI.
