Hi all,
Any ideas what this is? Lead with a cross section of iron plus a thin iron strip which comes out the top. I assume a fishing weight which used to have a loop on top but the nearest water is a canal a good several miles away.
Found with a garrett euroace on pasture about 6" deep and showing as a mid level tone.
Cheers,
Chris

It's a plummet weight & the "iron" is cork.

Haha, cork it is! Looked like rustly old iron but is indeed cork!
Cheers Allectus!
