Help With What I Think Maybe A Roman Coin ...Can Anyone Help ID Please

Post by ritchierich9 » Thu Sep 20, 2018 7:33 pm

Hi Can anyone please help identify what i think is a coin from these photo's please. I went out for a couple of hours detecting on tuesday 18th Sept for a couple of hours using my Garrett AT Max. The grass on the field where i was hoping to detect turned out to be too long for detecting but i noticed that along the edge of the treelike adjacent to the field there was a strip of shorter grass about 10 feet wide so i decided to detect that as i was already there. after finding a few bottle tops and ring pulls i got a signal of about high 50s and dug down about 5 inches and found what i think is a coin (not in good condition) but has some detail on it. The coin ? is an inch in width . Thsettings i was using were 35 discrimination at full sensitivity and a threshold of -9 and in the zero mode. I would be grateful if it's at all possible to get some id on the object ....thank you

Hiya and welcome to the forum
Hopefully someone will be along soon with an ID for you
With the scale, it is often better with a visual scale for coins, this thread here has many downloadable scales that you can print out for free, very usefull
