Without wanting to sound facetious, but the only thing missing from your description is ‘broken’
Small ‘broken’ stone. :D
But I’m no means an authority on stones ::g

I think it is a natural ordinary sandstone. Weathered and worn enough to make it look like something else.
I’ve got a 3 cornered one that I was convinced was in the early stages of becoming a stone axe. Makes a nice addition to my garden feature :D

Sandstone isn’t a 1st choice for tools. It isn’t durable enough, like sand paper, a few good rubs and it’s gone, plus it breaks easily. :(

Small stone?? looks like a big un from here, what would be the distinguishing features that brought your attention to it? Looks like a broken pebble.
