Silver Roman for Id please.

Post by john Colin » Thu Nov 08, 2018 7:20 pm

Today was spent in East Cornwall searching the banks of a river, the weather held up and I was enjoying myself retrieving the usual dross and pre-decimal coins when at a depth of five inches on pasture I recovered a Roman coin. Now I average about one bronze Roman a year in Cornwall so this was a great surprise. Even better was to come as when I got home I looked closely at it and realised it was silver. After a zap it has revealed itself. I would really like to know what it is please (my research tells me it could be Titus) as all Romans are reported to the FLO as they are rare here. It was found using a modified version of prog 2 on 3.2. Any help greatly appreciated.
John

It must be difficult for those who detect in a Roman area to appreciate just how scarce they are, the great thing is the information and location are far more valuable than the coin as it is another small piece to a very large jigsaw.
