I think I found a similar one on Sunday too, is there a bunch of arrows on the other side? if so it might be a half reale coin of Ferdinand and Isabella during the 15th century and I believe the 'S' mint mark shows it was minted in Seville. I might be wrong but I'm sure some others will know for sure.

Cheers Guys, glad i could help, nice find by the way. Its weird that I found one on Sunday too, I don't think I have ever seen one before and now two came up on the same day! I'll put on some pics of the one I found, still pretty rough condition but can just about make it out.

Unusual coin Ed and Ken: strange that the plough seems to have wanted a share of both x;

Must have been tough getting the 15" through stubble Ken?

Cheers Brad yes strange how they both have the same bit missing must be a reason for it,but as you say unusual coin so nice to see.as for the horrible stubble I would say I'm getting within 2 inch of the ground in places as it's been well used but I still don't like it,makes my arm ache after almost 9 hours of hunting which feels like four.thanks for the reply Cheers ken

Well done on the find Ironman. You said it was Spanish. ::g
Really great to find out where it was from and a rough date. That's what I like about this hobby: Always more to learn.
