Late roman going into saxon period there's a buckle guide I use not sure if I a allowed to post it on here if you type in to search bar buckle I'd and click on cjs ukdfd it is a guide on buckles go one roman into 5th century click pics and yours looks like figure 21/22 then go back and look at text it will give info on it :)
finds/5 roman silver coins tons of roman coins/31 hammered/1 gold george 1st half guineau/lots of milled/many crotal bells,saxon brooch,bronze age axe and various other items

Ooh, very nice! Thanks for the reference link DiggerDrew, will add that to my favourites.

It would be nice to see a pic of the other side, CJ’s page suggests those 5th Century buckles that have similar shape as this one are all zoomorphic; anything animal-like on this one?

The buckle is zoomorphic at top of buckle two heads facing one another :)
