Yellow metal buckle(?) for id please

Post by ajb6864 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:19 am

Hello again everyone.

I found, what I am hazarding a guess at, is a shoe buckle on one of my last trips out.

It was another beach find with my Equinox 600 on Beach 2 setting, with iron bias set at 0. I have only just had time to clean it up as it was an unidentifiable blob of verdigris and black silty slime, having been recovered 6" down in a rock pool and underneath a moderate sized rock.

It appeared at first as though it was possibly a button, as none of the central area was visible due in encrustation.

The metal is a yellow metal and appears to be quite a yellowy brass.

I had a look in the recently posted buckle pdf from another post, but nothing too similar in there.

All thoughts are very welcome.

Many thanks for looking,
Alan

Hi Danzigman

Thank you for the reply.

I understand what you are saying, but I think I can almost 100% rule that out from where I found it.
