Double whammy Hammy

Post by krip2454 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 2:20 pm

Out on some arable field with the remnants of a crop of turnips present with my local club. The soil was quite sandy in places and very easy to dig. This was a field that had not been detected for over fifteen years and the results were very promising. Some of the better finds were a Cnut silver penny, Henry V Groat. Both coins in fantastic condition. Several hammies. Tudor padlock and much, much more. We are returning next weekend, Easter or not.
First coin I believe is an Edward I farthing, London mint.
Second is an Edward I penny and that is all I know on this one.
Found with my trusty XP Deus, 9" coil on Ultimate program. Lovely sunny day but with an occasional biting breeze that could cut you in half. Roll on Spring.
