Lion/Tiger Head ID.....

Post by ashjacko » Mon Apr 15, 2019 6:04 pm

Hi everyone!

I recently found this head and wondered if anyone knows what it was please and how old it could be?

It was found on pasture with my Garrett Ace 250 & Nel Tornado Coil and was around 10 inches down.

It has what looks like a thread in the hole on the back and then a pin.

Thanks.

If that's a threaded insert on the rear it'll probably be quite modern, maybe a car badge?

I've never seen anything like it on a car apart from a Jaguar but that's different.

Or for a garden urn or something else like that? I’m sure there were square metal plant containers that had similar decoration :)

That horizontal bar mechanism reminds me the part of the innards of a mechanical bell that comes from an old push bike.
