Any idea of potential age or what it's from? Looks to have slight gold gilding at the end.

No idea what it might be part of but would suggest the ‘gilding’ is where the patina has been rubbed and is now showing the metal which is probably bronze if older or brass if newer.

It looks like perhaps a broken part of one of these-a trigger clip for equestrian purposes. ... igger-clip
