Today's find. I'D if poss please

Post by hackneygaz » Wed Oct 09, 2019 9:01 pm

Hiya
After nipping on my permission for 30 mins after work in a freshly ploughed field and around 10 inches deep with my At Pro International. I came across this. Which I believe is a button of copper alloy. Please correct me if I am wrong. From what I can see it is feather upon a crown and anchor. Which I believe is of navy origin. Again correct me. Lol. Its is 2cms in dia and 3mm thick.
I am sorry the pics are not of good quality.

Yes it looks like a British Royal Navy jacket button. Possibly from WWII but I'm no expert. Sure some one will along to give you an exact answer though.

There is a similar one on the Colchester naval buttons website described as Spanish or French. I can't find any evidence for this attribution though. :D
