2020: Cut Half [Short Cross] and a Pin Head?

Post by Sunray »

I think this is another John silver short cross Penny, class 5b, in the name of his Father King Henry II, Canterbury Mint, moneyer Johan.

x; But then again ....

I am quite sure that Allectus will put me right ::g

--

The other object is some kind of a Pin I think ...

It seems to be made of bronze and the head has twelve sides. Unfortunatly the pin itself is missing. :(

Any help on these two will be great ::g

I'll post some other bits n bobs that came up with them tomorrow.

Both are nice finds and they are also very well portrayed , always appreciated by members. ::g Saxon finds are indicative of a site worthy of much close examination and I'm sure it will be receiving just that ::g Good Luck - Regards ss47

Thanks SS ::g I will try to do the site justice, there is a lot of history there still waiting to be found and preserved.

Here are some of the other bits n bobs that came up:

The coin fragment may be silver, I haven't researched it so any thoughts on the ID will be welcome. I first thought I had found an Axe head, but there is so much iron that I believe its half of a modern chisel. [Doh]!

Nice patina on the button.

The button is unusual. The 'chisel' may be a log splitter but....? Regards ss47
