ID help please...

Post by Mattockswinga »

Hi all,

Had this pop up the other day in between downpours. About 4 inch down in pasture, good high tone on the Deus with the HF coil, 33khz.

Anyone any ideas? Have had Roman from the area previously. The intact end has a hole in each arm as if it was attached to something...

Scale is in cm

Any thoughts appreciated as always
Thanks in advance

Chris

Too arched/curved for that I think, or for it to look like the ones on PAS anyway. The 'circular' aperture in the centre is decorative and would have been adjacent to another, separated by the two lateral bands. Not just functional as the examples I've seen appear to be.

Apologies for that, a rushed attempt at an ID. Maybe a fragment of a drinking vessel like a tankard? [42/]
