Just a quick search - probably more than one candidate as maybe edecational establishments might have used it with the link to the meaning of the key being held in the beak?

A bit of Googling suggests that 'Armfield's Birmingham' (rather than Armfield & Co.) was used between 1790 and 1855. Not much help with the crest but somebody will ID it! A closer crop of the face might help - is it a griffin or some such?

Phil

Longhurst & Kay are 2 possible families - somebody will get it!
