Ring Bezel ?

Would appreciate your help with what looks like a ring bezel.
Looks like it could originally have held a intaglio.

Possibly a rivetted on anchor nut, looks like a screw thread on the inside.

Thanks Leg End, sometimes wishful thinking clouds our judgement. I think you are probably right about the screw thread. Some sort of wing nut. Now consigned to the scrap metal bucket ….
