Managed 3 hours this afternoon on a previously ploughed pasture and had a lovely find amongst the trash. I know it’s an Edward the confessor Anglo Saxon silver coin in lovely condition, barely clipped
I was lucky to find one similar nearly two years ago that unfortunately fell apart the last time I took it out of my felt coin tray, it was obviously very brittle after being in the ground for nearly 1000 years.
This one has a O on the reverse and my first hasn’t, I was hoping that one of our experts could give me an exact ID, photos are as it came out of the ground, with the other coin and after a gentle clean under warm water using an eraser.
An exact ID would be much appreciated as always RG.
Found with my manticore about 2 inches deep, gave a medium solid two way tone, neat circle exactly on and half way up the none ferrous line and 36-37 then 33 out of the hole.
