ID help please

Post by Uk_kh »

Good evening all,

I hope you've had a good day and thanks for looking! I've finally felt confident enough to switch the AT to Pro mode and it's made a big difference!

I found lots more than usual and it seems an afternoon of buttons.
Among the buttons and what appears to be a George I - are these two for ID please.

If anyone knows how to date buttons, I've included them too so any help is really appreciated [08/]

Thanks in advance [81/]

If that's mud caked on those buttons they'll need a good clean if you expect any kind of guesstimate re an ID. [81/]

The ground is certainly not kind to copper. The coin thing is too big for a Georgian halfpenny. It's about old penny size but it's impossible to be sure what it was. The buttons all look around the first half of the 19thC but might be a little either way. [81/]

Thanks, I had left it to soak but wanted to check it wasn't anything unusual before I started to scrub it!
