Any idea of age ?Hey all
 Found this strap end (?) In some loose soil that the farmer had dumped. It has a weeny bit of gilding by one of the rivets, which doesnt show well in the photos, and it does look like the remains of leather between the plates. What i find so amazing is that it all still moves with ease! If anyone has an idea of age that would be great..... (Please dont tell me that its from a pair of kids clarkes mary jane sandals, circa 1960.) Happy easter to everyone!  You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
How does anyone date these
Almost identical buckle is list all over the place, date wise, Roman to 1350-1450 AD I am talking legit sites like the British museum, Hanson auctions and the like not eBay or Etsy
