Badge with coat of arms

Coat of arms, lead metal shield, 2cm wide, looks like a badge. Dug up in London. Has a central cross with an animal in each quarter. Any ideas on origin or date appreciated. Thanks.

16th-17th century Post Medieval Bronze Heraldic Mount, is all i can find out 👍

Many thanks Bradrick and Tang, that certainly looks like it [BTW: I checked again and the metal is not lead- less dense]. Would still be interesting to know what the coat of arms represents.

My first thoughts too- but not quite right, as the animals are not 4 lions + no book at the crux of the cross.

Looks close enough to me, animal wise

I was aware it wasn't quite right, hence the 'possibly' in my post. They are definitely lions, badly done, but lions they be.

I did a bit more research, which reveals a couple of pendants very similar to this one are identified on PAS as late post medieval :

Four are found in the south east

Probably regiment, fire brigade, constabulary or club
