Edward penny for ID please

Post by HM Murdoch » Sun Oct 15, 2017 9:11 am

My first signal on a lovely rolled field this morning turned out to be a hammered penny of one of the Edwards. It was very shallow, probably less than 2 inches down.

The signal on my Minelab X-Terra was 20 (I've found two hammies with this machine and on both occasions the signal has been lower than I associate with hammered silver. Silver registered higher on my old machine, a Viking VK40. Do oher Minelab users find silver registering around the middle of the spectrum?)

I can tell the coin is a penny from the Lincoln mint and is from one of the Edwards. Could anybody kindly tell me which Edward and, if possible, give me a Spink number please?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks again, Allectus. I don't know what I'd do without you!
