Silver ring with stone for ID please

Post by jackdaw » Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:17 am

Managed to grab a couple of hours before the freezing cold rain set in!
I had nothing for 1hr & 59 mins and then ping.. out pops this bad boy. It really does go to show, you just never know whats blow your feet...

I've had one possible ID as a medieval silver merchants ring with a citrine stone..Would you guys agree.
12th century??
I was using the XP Deus a modified Relic programme.

Cheers

Nice ring but the 'stone' looks to be cushion cut. If so it is unlikely to date before 1800. ::g

Hello 'Jackdaw' ::g Very well done, that's a nice find ::g The example shown by 'Beaubrummell' would appear to be close, if not a match ::g Cheers. Regards ss47

Certainly looks like the the example posted. I don't think it's easy to be able to name a 'cut' because of the damage. To me the cut seems very similar, though less complex, to the proposed ID.
Certainly haven't seen anything like this post-1800 so as the ID given is such a good match I'd go wth that. One for the flo and obviously treasure.
