Pics are a bit blurred, I can see 9 and 375 and that's it.

Agree with Cantona - too blurred - C & C seems to be the maker...who dat? What is the object - would like to see a pic of the whole thing :)

Same it's 9ct and looks like Birmingham but need a clearer date letter please

It looks like the 'slide barrel' from a propelling pencil. A pic of the whole may produce the ID you are asking for. Regards ss47

Date letter looks like a curly "L". x;

There have been several C&C makers marks used in Brum and the date letter will determine which one yours is. A picture of the whole object might also narrow it down to a specific period. :D

This is the mark on another propelling pencil. These guys were based in London but used most of the assay offices. 1985 seems a tad late for them so I'd really like to see a closeup of the date letter to be sure about it.

I agree that without a clear pic, we can only speculate. My best guess of the unclear image was a curly capital "L" which appears to represent 1985, though this does not really fit with the actual age of the item. :-/

I agree and the C&C mark seems to have a fair amount of wear. ::g
