Maltese type cross ID please.

Post by db-uk » Mon Feb 12, 2018 6:57 pm

Hi

I found this last Sunday, a small cross and wondered if anyone has any experience with this type of object.
It is 3cm across and is a very thin metal perhaps about 1mm in thickness and using a magnifying glass each side of the cross has numbers or letters though most are too corroded to make out anything apart from one lug says 1897 and another says BORN, I cant make anything else out.
I have found military buttons in this field in the past so wondered if it is a military piece.
Cheers

Wow, quick reply, thanks so much :D I assume this was made for the masses as it is a very cheap and thin metal.
Thanks again.
