Nice big buckle and silver..

Post by Swany » Tue Feb 20, 2018 8:30 pm

Found a nice double loop oval buckle, the biggest I have found, 48x36mm, similar to 291 in this link, but bigger.

Nice wee silvers too, I take it altered for personal use.

Not sure what the copper alloy bits are, one looks like the stopper from ye olde hot water bottle :-)

Cheers.

Have a feeling the Chinese coin may be a reproduction.

The letters don't look right. The edge rim looks too wide and the dots around look more like dots than lines.

I could be wrong.

Tried to compare against some being sold on eBay. Some of them are more obviously reproduction than yours so hard to know which to compare to

I love finding buckles. I found a nice spur/boot buckle two weeks ago.

Nice finds, the sixpence or threepence would of had a little turquoise stone set in it but is now missing I found one on the beach years ago.

Nice selection of finds.

Funny enough I was looking at love tokens last week and saw a pierced hole with triangles around it. Can't find it again B|
