Haymeadow finds

Post by Stillburning » Mon Jul 17, 2017 5:16 pm

Some more hay fields have been cut so I've been out for a few sessions in the past week.

Typical finds from these fields, nothing of any great age but good to be out and easy digging as its soft black ground.

Coins, top left cartwheel penny, 3 George II and a Vikky on the end, all the others 20th century apart from bottom left which is probably a token but totally knackered.

The other photo is cow horn protector top left, shame the thimble is knackered but its the first bit of silver I've seen for a while, not sure about the lead bit bottom left, must have been made that shape for a purpose.

Thanks for looking ::g

Well done on a varied haul. The horn protector is of interest to me as I thought I'd found one but it's a lot different to yours. Another flaming tractor pary, probly.
Essential equipment:
Some sort of electrical gubbins(I'm told it's a Deus). In various colours
